There is requirement to improve solar concentrator for effective solar energy utilization. Among many alternative means, nanoparticle solar concentrator (NPSC) which makes use of ZnS can provide improved effectiveness of solar concentrating. This work has aimed at synthesizing ZnS nanoparticle by micro-emulsion method for the ultimate goal of solar concentrator application. Characterizations of synthesized ZnS by SEM, TEM, XRD, and UV-vis spectroscopic analyses are reported. The experimental results show that water to surfactant molar ratio (W0) is a crucial parameter for controlling particle size of ZnS nanoparticles.
